So apart from that, I wouldn't get any others. It's not just the spine that doesn't match, it's the front and back as well. but then they announced it and I was like yep, going to need to get it. I always said I'd never get Poppy Hill again, the spine difference is slightly noticeable but never bothered me that much.
There's also a chance that they're just doing Poppy Hill to match up the design since there was atleast one employee who expressed disappointment that they released it before the current layout configuration. so they might want to re-release to have the current logos. The others were released by GKIDS through Universal not Shout, now it's through Shout just distributing through Universal. With Poppy Hill getting a re-release in December, does this mean the original GKIDS titles will see a re-release in the near future, too, with updated slipcovers and a booklet included?Įven though they said they wouldn't revisit Poppy Hill, the current listing shows a booklet would be included in the December release to make it uniform with the other re-releases.
